I have always loved flowers, enjoyed growing them and watching them emerge and bloom each season. My garden and allotment are a constant source of joy. I love bringing home flowers from the allotment or garden, a bunch of sweet smelling home grown sweet peas for example or a single scented rose.  I have been a primary school teacher for 21 years and an enthusiastic florist and gardener for longer. Floristry runs in my family and I have also thoroughly enjoyed training days at Jane Packer and Jamie Aston schools of Floristry in London. Flourish & Bloom has certainly flourished I have been so lucky to create bespoke flowers for weddings, funerals, large events such as a stand at  Hickstead International Horse Show, 1 metre diameter flower balls and hand tied bouquets for local customers.

 

As a teacher and parent I firmly believe that children need to be outside playing, digging and recognising the wonder of nature in this computer led world. Children are so happy to give a handful of garden flowers as a gift, the children who have been to my workshops have learnt new skills and given their beautiful flowers with such pride.  As an adult its great to learn new skills and being creative is a great way to get inspired.I hope that you will join me at a Workshop or enjoy a Flourish & Bloom bouquet.
